The new Low Impedance Mode boosts flowmeter performance by pushing more current through the transducer, allowing ultrasound signals to penetrate deeper into corroded pipes or particulated fluids.
This feature is ideal for challenging applications where high ultrasound attenuation reduces signal strength, increasing the received amplitude by approximately 4x.
When to Use Low Impedance Mode
For most situations, the flowmeter automatically adjusts power and gain to handle varying conditions. However, in installations with significant sound attenuation, enabling Low Impedance Mode enhances ultrasound penetration for more reliable measurements. Otherwise, keep it in High Impedance Mode (default) for better long-term zero stability.
How to Enable Low Impedance Mode
Access this feature via the Advanced Setup menu:
From the measurement screen, select “Edit” -> “Advanced” -> “Low Impedance”
Toggle the switch to “On”
