SoundWater Technologies is happy to announce that we have completed C1D2 (hazardous area) certification, AND UL/CSA (electrical safety) compliance for the Cypress Ultrasonic Flowmeters.
What does this mean? Many industries and applications require that equipment comply with either electrical safety standards or hazardous location standards before installation. For example, oil & gas applications often involve the presence of flammable gases which could ignite from an electrical spark. In such hazardous applications, compliance to Hazardous Area Certification is critical for safe operation of electrical equipment.
Similarly, UL/CSA compliance is required for those applications, industries or organizations that have internal human safety, and fire prevention requirements. Compliance to UL/CSA standards ensures safe operation for humans and buildings.

SoundWater will officially be shipping products with the new compliance mid-March. Figure 1 shows specific regulatory details of the new regulatory markings.
The new certifications will allow the Cypress Flowmeter to be installed at applications requiring C1D2 and/or UL/CSA compliance. Typical industries that require compliance to these standards are chemical, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, and wastewater.
